About Temuçin
1) Are you a language teacher? What do you do?
Yes, I am a language teacher.
In addition to my earlier/prior two degrees/majors, I also graduated with high honors from the Faculty of Education with three separate diplomas in German Language Education, French Language Education, and English Language Education. I also completed a Master’s degree in Education, Policy & Society at King’s College London.
I cannot fully disclose my occupation because I am an embassy employee.
2) Where did you complete your military service?
I have completed my military service at Turkiye’s Land Forces Training and Doctrine Command (EDOK) in Ankara.
3) What is your educational background?
I have graduated from Çukurova University - Faculty of Education, completing a double major and a minor in German Language Education, French Language Education, and English Language Education. I officially hold educator/teacher certifications/diplomas in all of these three languages, and also in Turkish as well.

I provide private lessons in a remote/online format.
I teach German more comprehensively and swiftly using English (or French, or Turkish) as the complete medium of instruction for students. The lessons are tailored specifically to the individual, whether they are: 12 years or older,
Starting from scratch,
Looking to raise/improve their language skills up to the C2 level,
Preparing for exams or interviews.
To start the lessons, my students do not need to purchase any textbooks, materials, etc. All the necessary resources will be provided by me.
Furthermore, there is no need for my students to take notes during the lessons. All the required notes will be prepared specifically for you by me and shared after each lesson meticulously.
According to my teaching method: During the lessons, students are not overwhelmed with unnecessary linguistic elements or terminology (e.g., pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, verbs, subjects, objects, predicates, phrases, inflections, etc.).
They do not use ineffective methods such as rote memorization of individual words.
At the beginner levels, I provide all explanations to teach the foreign language entirely through in the student’s native/preferred language.
As a result, students learn the foreign language
without needing to self-teach,
without rote memorization,
without constantly guessing, which can lead to incorrect learning,
without unnecessary stress,
in the shortest possible time with the least amount of energy expended.
In addition to general language training for German, I also provide specialized lessons in the following areas:
Visa interviews and the Family Reunion Exam (Start Deutsch 1),
High school, university, DSD, Telc, DSH, Goethe-Zertifikat, TestAS exams,
Business German (for Medicine, Engineering, and Economics & Administrative Sciences).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1) Do I need to turn on my camera during lessons?
No. I do not need to see you during the lessons, nor do you need to see me. During the lessons, I will project/share various materials onto your computer screen and provide explanations. Hence, you should feel as if a student in a classroom who focuses on the board/material and listens attentively.
2) Do I need to purchase textbooks or other materials for the lessons?
No. I will provide all the textbooks and materials that will be required during the lessons.
3) What is your teaching method, and who is it suitable for?
This is a teaching method suitable for everyone aged 12 and above. It is based on the language training method offered by The United States’ Department of Defense (DoD), specifically at their Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, and Turkiye’s Land Forces Training and Doctrine Command (EDOK). This method, used for the operational military units' (e.g., interrogators) special training requirements by such organizations as NATO and the UN; is also applied in language training provided to employees of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Which, the teacher develops a customized path based on the student’s needs. Progress is balanced in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ranging from A1.1 (Beginner) to C2 (Near-Native Proficiency).
Only the language teachers who have served at such organizations as EDOK are authorized/trained to implement this military language teaching method.
4) Can you guarantee learning?
Only if you take lessons with a frequency proportional to your goals and complete the assignments I give you with dedication and honesty, I can guarantee learning.
5) What do I need to start lessons, and which platform will we use?
We will use the Microsoft Teams application, which is very easy to install and use.
For the lessons, you will need:
A computer (even an old one),
An internet connection,
A quiet place where you can concentrate.
Attending lessons via mobile phone will not be suitable.
6) Can we have a trial lesson?
No. For the meeting and getting to know each-other, to see if we are "in the same frequency"; we can of course speak for a considerably long time, even more than once, about such details as: what we will be doing in the lessons, how we will approach to your case, and many more where I would be answering all of your questions meticulously.
However, for trial purposes, you can take lessons for a one-month period at the least. Trial lessons do not make sense because we will not do the same things in every lesson, and at the initial meeting, neither I will have an accurate impression of you, nor you of me. For the meeting and getting to know each-other, we can of course speak for a considerably long time about such details as what we will be doing in the lessons, how we will approach to your case, and many more.
I work with a limited number of students on a seasonal/annual basis. Therefore, I prefer students who can ensure continuity or have serious goals.

Details
One lesson hour/session lasts for 40 minutes, and all my lessons are conducted in blocks/doubles of two lessons hours/sessions (40+40 minutes, totaling 80 minutes).
The terms "hour", "session", and "lesson" might be confusing in tutoring/education jargon; however, I am talking about a "lesson hour/session"; which is a 40 minutes long time, not a standard hour (60-minutes). But, in Superprof's system, the standard hourly (60 minutes) rate is shared as the general price bracket to give an overall estimate to the students. You can find detailed breakdown below.
The lesson fees are calculated as follows:
The standard hourly (60 minutes) rate is 20% more than the current Guaranteed Gross Minimum Wage in the State of Illinois (15 + (15 x 20 ÷ 100) = $18.00).
As each 60-minute lesson is $18.00, accordingly, each 80-minute block/double lesson costs $24.00, which is how we will be scheduling our program based on.
For the group lessons
For two students, the lesson fee increases 50%. Thus, each 80-minute block/double lesson costs $24.00 + $12.00 = $36.00
For three students or more, the lesson fee increases by an additional 25% ($6.00) beyond the two-student rate. Thus, each 80-minute lesson costs $24.00 + $12.00 + $6.00 = $42.00 for three students, so for the each additional student after this point there would be a 25% ($6.00) increase.
The total payment is scheduled and agreed upon in writing with the student via WhatsApp or email to be made in advance for at least a month in bulk.
Payments can be made through Western Union or directly to my IBAN.
