Being an experienced, fully qualified teacher and tutor means that I understand the importance of developing a good rapport with students to effectively support them in making excellent progress. I always begin my tutoring sessions by assessing a student’s strengths and areas of improvement, before differentiating and tailoring my teaching and resources depending on a student’s individual needs. I ensure that students are well supported, starting with scaffolded activities, and chunking the learning with easy to remember techniques, to build independence in learning.
I also think it is vital to break down the examiner’s mark scheme and success criteria with students to make sure they have a strong understanding of how to tackle each exam question and the skills they need to demonstrate.
As well as tutoring GCSE and secondary school students, I am also available to tutor KS3 school pupils, A-Level students and adults.
In your trial lesson we will discuss your needs and agree on an action plan to target these. I will then address your targeted areas by planning bespoke lessons for you and provide feedback on your progress and development.
