About Zan

Hi, I'm Zan! I'm studying Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Bath and am going into my final year. I achieved A*A*A at A Level, including an A* in Computer Science, and have over 120 hours of tutoring experience.

I'm naturally curious and enjoy exploring how technology can be used to solve problems in the real world. I particularly enjoy programming and understanding the logic behind how things work. I've also completed a research studentship exploring mathematical education and how we communicate mathematical ideas.

Outside university, I'm a regular gym-goer and an amateur DJ. I enjoy balancing academic work with other interests and am always keen to learn something new.

About the class

I specialise in OCR GCSE and A-Level Computer Science, particularly Python programming. My lessons are relaxed, interactive and tailored to each student's needs, whether they're struggling with the theory, learning to code or aiming for top grades.

Computer Science is about much more than programming. I can help with the theory behind computer systems, processors, networks, databases and data representation, as well as algorithms, computational thinking and Python. I focus on explaining concepts clearly and helping students understand how different parts of the subject fit together.

Through worked examples, practical exercises and exam-style questions, we'll build understanding and develop the skills needed to tackle unfamiliar problems. I also like to explore why things work the way they do, rather than simply memorising facts or methods for an exam.

Whether you need help with a particular topic or want to strengthen your understanding across the syllabus, I'll tailor lessons to your goals and help you approach exams with confidence.
