About Owen
I am currently completing my MA in Education at the University of Dundee. As well as assessed placements that I am enjoying I also have modules in child psychology. I am learning how to really hone my craft as a teacher. I also have lessons in Italian- learning a second language gives me an insight to a pupil. I was situated in Milano this year, teaching English as a foreign language full time for 7 months- I worked with all manner of students and all ages- from 4-60, within public and private schools; and within one on one and classroom environments. I hold a Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA)- and have experience teaching students from the age of 4 to 60- in a multitude of environments. I am trained in tutoring for IELTS, Cambridge English and TOEFL exams- and in teaching English as a foreign language from A1 to C2. Currently, I still teach classes at the British Study Centre in Edinburgh in these areas. This keeps my teaching fresh and shows my commitment to professional development. I also hold an HND in Acting & Performance. This course alighted my passion for teaching. It gave me a multitude of experience in leading and delivering drama workshops, and have created content that has been used all over Scotland. I have had experience working as a Primary Assistant, working in close relation to English. I have also been through the current Scottish exam system and I have experience tutoring students tutoring students to work towards this. I have a comprehensive understanding of the Scottish Intermediate and Higher system in English, Drama and Modern Studies. I also have an understanding of the English A-level system- and although I have not taught in this area- I am confident about tutoring towards them.

Perfect! We contacted Owen to provide English Lessons for our Spanish Au pair. From day one, he has been very professional and approachable. Our au pair is enjoying the classes and she feels more confident communicating in English. We could not have found a better tutor. Thank you.
- Ana has been a great student! Looking forward to continuing our lessons after the isolation.Owen's response :

Owen is the friendliest tutor I have come across thus far, he is more than patient, and really understanding!
Owen is very patient and has a calm personality, which makes learning with him easy. His passion for languages lights up the room, making laughs and smiles regular occurrences.
owen and myself have been friends for years he kind and hardworking person with an amazing sense of humour, an absolute joy to be around and carries a great sense of pride and integrity when it comes to teaching and being a tutor, he has told me many times how he rewarding it is to do what he is doing and will put 100% into everything he does. Could not recommend him anymore and anyone who has the pleasure of dealing with him will understand.
