About Vanessa
I am a secondary school teacher with 25 years' experience teaching languages in North West London. Throughout the years I have tutored many GCSE and A-level students and prepared them successfully for the French GCSE, international GCSE or French A-level with Edexcel and AQA. I am a native French speaker, bilingual in English and French and have a genuine passion for teaching languages and helping students gain confidence, improve and succeed in their exam.

The way I prepare students for their exam (GCSE or A-level French) depends on the amount of time we have before the exam and the skills that each individual student needs to work on. I usually try to get as much information as I can before tuition begins, such as the exam board and syllabus used by the school, their schemes of work, what skills the student finds most difficult, how much/little vocabulary they know for each topic, their understanding of key grammatical concepts, tenses etc. Then, with the student and their family, I come up with a realistic plan and goals, which includes the tuition (usually 1 or 2 hours a week), homework and tests to do in their own time. I am used to teaching online via Zoom and share resources on Zoom during the session or in advance via email. I also use various online sites to practise grammar, listening skills, etc. I can also teach at my home or the student's home in the Pinner/Northwood/Ruislip area. Finally, I am also happy to tutor adults or younger children as I have experience teaching at KS3 and in primary schools.
