About Lucy
I’m a First-Class Law graduate in the final stages of an LLM in International Law at the University of Southampton, where I’m on track for a Distinction and have received a Dean’s List Award for Outstanding Achievement.
I know how difficult it can be to understand what universities actually expect from legal writing, particularly when feedback tells you to be “more critical” without making clear how to do that. Over the course of my own studies, I’ve learnt how to turn that feedback into stronger arguments and higher-quality legal writing, and I’d love to help other students do the same.
I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I want my lessons to be somewhere students feel completely comfortable asking questions, working through ideas and building confidence in their own ability.

“I understand the law, but my essays keep getting 55–62 and I don’t understand what ‘more critical analysis’ actually means.”
If this sounds familiar, I can help.
My lessons focus not only on understanding the law, but on learning how to write about it effectively. I can help with essay structure, critical analysis, developing strong arguments, using cases and academic commentary, OSCOLA referencing, understanding feedback and improving your academic writing.
Lessons are relaxed, supportive and tailored to what you want to improve, whether that’s a particular area of law, an upcoming essay or exam, or simply learning how to push your work into the higher mark bands.
