First Aid: Needed fast and before anything else....... Aid may make it sound trivial or optional ; it absolutely saves life.........

As a classmate in Medical Graduation, I have seen Dr Baishnab Charan Nayak from a very close quarters. In 2nd or 3rd year , I still remember his display presentation of a complex physiological aspect of fertility in college exhibition. His methodology of modular presentation was unique and original. His presentation made us understand the topic so lucidly that it was sweetly surprising to all of us ! No doubt he will make a very good teacher in later life. Another aspect of his character which impressed me very much in recent years , is his interest and depth in such an array of subjects. To make his understanding more and more perfect, he treads into a variety of topics ! His knowledge spans from Anatomy to Astronomy and Anaesthesiology to Anthropology , which makes his understanding of his subject very strongly founded . To me, this is a great attribute of a super teacher. It is always a pleasure to read his postings via various electronic media. He is destined to be a teacher par excellence.

Dr Baishnab Nayak is an experienced anaesthesiologist, with an impeccable professional record. We were batch mates in our MBBS days. Over last four decades (and more) our paths have taken us in very different ways but over last few years we have got really close: courtesy Internet, WhatsApp, and modern IT. We have collaborated on a number of literary and professional projects, which has given me a broad and close exposure of his professional acumen and his personal qualities. From his writings on a series of medical anecdotes, I am impressed by his mastery of his specialist field and his depth of its theory and practice. Added to this, his clarity of thought and his interesting style of communicating his ideas makes him a superb teacher. But his real talent as a teacher lies in his ability to inspire his students through his personal qualities of perseverance and resilience. Teachers come in very many grades and in my view, he belongs to somewhere near the top tiers. I am confident, he will be successful in not only imparting the necessary knowledge and skill to his students; he will also be an excellent role model and a source of inspiration.
