About Joe
Hi, I’m Joe — a passionate science tutor with a Master’s in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor’s in Biology with a minor in Outdoor Education. I’ve worked in federal microbiology labs, managed research projects, and taught in classrooms, giving me a rare mix of real-world science experience and hands-on teaching skills. Joe’s Tutoring Approach I focus on making science clear, engaging, and real. My approach combines my years of hands-on lab experience with proven teaching strategies. A typical lesson starts with a quick review of concepts, followed by interactive exercises where students apply ideas to problems or mini experiments (hands-on when possible). I encourage questions and discussions throughout, making sure students don’t just memorize, but truly understand the material. Lessons often end with a short recap and tips for remembering key points. What sets me apart is my unique mix of experience: I’ve worked in federal microbiology labs, managed complex research projects, and hold a Master’s in Bioinformatics, but I also have classroom teaching experience. This means I know how to translate advanced science into lessons that students can grasp and enjoy.
