About Aidan
Hi, I’m Aidan — a passionate Sport & Exercise Science graduate from Newcastle University, where I completed my degree in June 2025.
During my studies, I developed a strong interest in research and evidence-based practice. My dissertation contributed to a wider research project that has since been published in the European Journal of Physiology, an achievement I’m incredibly proud of and one that reflects my commitment to academic excellence.
Academically, I achieved an 8 in GCSE PE and an A* in A-Level PE, so I understand exactly what it takes to succeed at these levels. Having recently been through the exam system myself, I know the pressure students face — and more importantly, the strategies needed to achieve top grades.
I am passionate about continually developing my knowledge, both to benefit my students and to grow personally. I am currently completing a Degree Apprenticeship in Dietetics with the NHS, allowing me to apply cutting-edge nutritional science in real-world clinical settings. This keeps my understanding of physiology, performance, and health fully up to date.
Outside of academics, I’m a keen runner with a strong interest in performance, training, and sports nutrition. My love for sport is what first inspired me to study it — and it continues to drive both my professional and personal development today.

My Approach to Tutoring
My teaching style is student-centred, structured, and results-driven. I believe every learner is different, so I tailor each lesson to your specific syllabus, exam board, strengths, and areas for development. Whether you are studying GCSE, A-Level, BTEC or a university degree, I break complex topics down into clear, manageable sections to build both confidence and understanding.
I focus heavily on:
Clear explanation of key concepts (e.g. physiology, biomechanics, sport psychology, socio-cultural influences)
Active recall and exam-focused practice
Past paper analysis and mark scheme breakdown
Developing strong exam technique and structured answers
Real-world sporting examples to deepen understanding
Lessons are interactive and engaging — I encourage discussion, questioning, and application rather than passive note-taking. My goal is not just to help you memorise content, but to fully understand it and apply it effectively in exams and coursework.
Typical Lesson Structure & Length
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions (90–120 minutes) or shorter 30-45 minutes, are available if preferred.
A standard session usually includes:
Quick recap and retrieval practice from previous content
Clear teaching of a focused topic area
Application through exam questions or problem-solving
Feedback and action points to improve
Each lesson builds towards measurable progress and increased confidence.

I first met Aidan when I took my younger daughter to a holiday camp. Details
I offer both online and in-person sessions. For in-person lessons, a small travel fee is applied to cover the time it takes to get to you and any transport costs. This ensures I can give your lesson the full focus it deserves.
The travel fee is calculated based on:
Time spent travelling – I charge for the minutes it takes to travel to and from your location, at the same rate as the lesson.
Distance travelled – A small mileage contribution to cover fuel and transport costs.
For example, if a round trip takes 40 minutes and is 10 miles, the travel fee would be roughly £23, in addition to the standard lesson fee.
This method keeps pricing fair and transparent, and ensures you’re only paying for the extra time and travel needed to deliver a high-quality in-person lesson.
