About Christine
DeMoor Speech Therapy is owned and operated by Christine DeMoor, M.S., CCC-SLP. I have been an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certified, New York state licensed speech-language pathologist since 1988. I also hold a NY state Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped certificate. And, I have been proudly serving Brooklyn with my own private practice since 1998. I prefer to keep my practice small, so my clients receive the individualized, personal attention they deserve. I really care very much about each client, and every client is special to me! I evaluate my clients' speech and voice difficulties and develop goals to meet each client's individual needs. I always motivate my clients to make as much progress as possible, since nothing makes me happier than seeing all the improvement in my clients! I provide home activities, so my clients' progress proceeds more rapidly, and the clients' newly acquired skills carry over into other environments.
In addition, I have been acting, singing, and dancing my entire life. I have performed in numerous musicals and plays Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway, and in community theater productions. I have also acted in TV commercials. I am trained as a singer in opera technique. Thus, I use my acting and singing training to help my clients, as well. And, I have been a U.S. ballroom and Latin dance champion, an accomplished tap dancer, and a skilled competitive fencer.
I have a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from The Pennsylvania State University.
