About Abigel
Hello!
I am a very passionate teacher of the violin. I am and American-Hungarian violinist based in New York.
Qualifications:
I have an undergraduate degree from the Juilliard School where I studied with Izhak Perlman. I want to pass on what he has taught to me to my students. I have won numerous national and international competitions and I have had many students that I absolutely love working with.
Teaching Style:
I am a kind and patient person but at the same time, I push my students to go further in their learning than they wver imagined they could. Studying with me will be a fun, but serious learning experience!
My price:
The price I charge can vary significantly based on need or travel and negotiation. Please send me a message :)
I got started teaching a couple years agi when my teacher had to travel last-minute and needed someone to cover for her. I taught all of her students for a while and had so much fun.
I have an udergraduate degree from the Juilliard School in violin performance. I also studied at th Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. I have some of the greatest violin players and teachers of our time, and want to pass on everything that they taught to me to my students!

I like to take an hour or two to really decide on what I think their level of playing is in order to start learning the best suitable repertoire for the student. I also include my student in the process if deciding what their goals are as violinists, and what type of music they want to play (classical/jazz/folk/pop). My students have a lot of say in the lessons, and I think that because of this, they go home excited and motivated to practice on their own as well.
I have worked with many types of people. I have worked with young children around the age of 6, teenagers around the age of 15 and adults around the age of 40. I am very good at dealing with frustrated children and am very good at adapting to their personaities and needs in order to get my the most out of the lesson and make it as enjoyable and fruitful for the student.
One day, my student came in to play one of the pieces we had been working on for a little while. We had been trying to get his intonation to be great in the said piece, but for some reason we had been struggling with it in our past lessons. I had been trying to come up with a way for him to think about intonation feom another angle, so I came up with a soecial scale for him to do. I was so surprised at what the scale did to him- it helped him do exactly what we had been working towards for weeks. I love these proud teaching moments, the moments when we both finally figure out together how to solve a technical problem on the violin.

Details
I like to charge 50 for 45 minute lessons, and 60 for hour-long lessons. Depending on need and travel time I would charge more or less. IFor example, if my studenti comes twice a wieek, i would lower the rate to 40 per lesson (80 iper week)
