About Grant
I am the Principal/Solo trombonist for many ensembles (Classical/Jazz/Blues) in Fishers, Indiana and have been playing for more than 40 years.
I graduated in Music Performance from the Indiana University School of Music. My renowned teachers include Edwin Anderson (Cleveland Orchestra), Lewis Van Haney (New York Philharmonic) and Robert Tennyson (Kennedy Center Orchestra).
We all descend from the great "Chief" trombone teacher: Emory Remington - and that is the method I teach beginners. Along the way I support your needs and desires to grow in your musical understanding and appreciation, and excel at the greatest instrument ever made - The Trombone.

There's nothing that engages your whole self like playing music. As someone who has taught players in Junior High though adulthood, I enjoy illuminating concepts and interpretations that they would not have otherwise discovered.

Perfect! What Grant does so well is meet you where you are. While there are fundamental exercises he makes sure to cover, when it comes to understanding *your* style and goals, he is super understanding and thinks outside of the box to make you the musician that you want to be. It is evident with his experience in the Chicago music scene that he is comfortable with "breaking the form", and he translates that to building fundamentals of creativity.
