About Sophia
I started coaching as a teenager, when I was leading tennis summer camps in Germany. Furthermore, I coached as an assistant coach for a Division 1 college team. Lastly, I was teaching for Cliff Drysdale Tennis for a year.
I am a PTR certified Tennis Professional. I have a safeplay certification as we well as a CPR certification.

I like to talk to the player before our first lesson, to find out what the player is wanting to get out of the lesson. This will help me preparing for the lesson.
Children and Adults
Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced players all the way up to division 1 players.
I would tell the student to make sure he/she trusts the teacher's abilities and knowledge. Make sure you tell the teacher what you are looking for. That way, the teacher can create practice plans that accomodate the player's needs and wants.
I got to join aan adult tennis camp weekend at the John Newcombe Tennis ranch where I was coaching an entire weekend full of drills, and point play.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What does the player want to get out of the lesson is what I believe is most important. Does the player want to get advice on technique, does the player simply want to hit a lot of rally balls, or play points, or does the player want to get a good cardio workout in. Do some research on the pro to make sure he or she is as qualified as he or she says.

I signed up my 9 year old son to take private lessons with Sophia over the last summer. My son really enjoyed going to his lessons, he had nothing but good things to say about Sophia as a tennis teacher as well as a person. I could reach out to her anytime of the day if I had any questions, and she seemed to care a lot about my son.
Sophia acted as my coach when I was a player for the University of Akron Women's tennis team. She not only coached us on the tennis court but also in the weight room and outside of tennis. She pushed us hard, and always motivated us, no matter what the score said on court. Sophia can get very creative when she's working on technique.
