About Bailey
I am a speech-language pathologist in my clinical fellowship year. I currently work in a school district providing speech-language services to students with mild to severe diabilities. I have a strong background in research, as I worked with a team targeting literacy and fluency disorders in pediatrics and adults, alike. I am excited to share new ideas and help educate both children and care-takers to best help your child grow! This is not an opportunity to receive speech-language services, rather, it is an opportunity to receive tutoring related to language (content, use, form) from a professional with a strong background in this topic.
During my graduate program, I was one of only 2 students chosen to be placed off-campus at a local preschool, which I immediately fell in love with. Following that placement, I was able to secure another school placement where I provided services for elementary and high school students. When working with a new student, I like to have a conversaton about needs and long-term goals. First, I have to know what the student's needs are so I know what supports I can bring to the table. Next, I need to know what a student or parent wants to acheive goal-wise from tutoring sessions. If I know the long-term goal we are reaching for, I can create short-term goals to keep track of progress and maintin a schedule.
I have worked with students in both the general education and special educaton curriculum with vast variety of disorders. I have working the the following diagnosis: ASD, Down syndrome, hearing impaired, visually impaired, ADHD, ID, selective mutism, Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy, auditory-processing disorder, and sensory-processing issues.
