About Diana
I am a certified Special Education teacher with 11 years experience in the public school system, 9 years private tutoring (over 6 of which are online) looking to help individuals with special needs find success and feel good about their learning. I have experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities, backgrounds, levels and ages (PreK - Adult), as well as Orton Gillingham and Wilson trained. Online tutoring sessions are conducted in an interactive, 1:1 and individualized setting with engaging (and fun) lessons tailored specifically to each learner. Getting to know my students as individuals and learners allows me to find unique ways to motivate them and build their confidence which breeds success.
I believe the most important part of tutoring is the relationship between student and tutor. When a solid relationship built on trust and respect is established, maximum potential can be reached. Getting to know students as learners and individuals is extremely improtant to me.
I graduated with a degree in Special Education, followed by earning a masters in education, too.
I have taught for over 18 years combined both in public and private school settings, as well as in-person and virtual tutoring. I also have experience running a small start-up business, as well as training in Orton Gillingham & Wilson reading programs.

After speaking with the student (text, email or phone) to gather as much iformation as possible (including goals, history, strengths and areas of need), I offer a free 30-min session to get to know each other and ensure it's a student/teacher match before moving forward. The initial session will allow me to start to understand how the student learns best, his/her current levels and begin to identify some areas I can potentionally help. All sesisons, including the intro session, are followed-up with a written summary of our time together.
