About Amanda
Hello! My name is Amanda Shaffer and I have been sewing since I was 15 years old. I began sewing in high school, learning from my grandmother, then from my high school fashion class and later obtained a Bachelors of Science in Apparel design. What is great about the lessons I offer is that students have the freedom to learn not only how to sew but surface design techniques such as fabric dye, printing, and embroidery.
When I was 18 I started working for an after school program that had access to sewing machines. Through the after-school program, I was able to teach my first sewing class. When my class finished their first project, it was then that I realized I wanted to teach sewing classes later in my life. Fast forward 8 years, I made my dreams a reality and
