About Geoffrey
Geoffrey D. Calhoun is author of the Best Selling Screenwriting book, The Guide For Every Screenwriter which he uses for instruction. He has traveled the nation teaching the craft of screenwriting at seminars and festivals.
Geoffrey specializes in breaking down the complexities of screenwriting to make the craft accessible to anyone. He uses a series of templates, outlines, and guides which he has crafted from over a decade of working as a professional screenwriter. Currently, Geoffrey is sought out as a script consultant and rewriter for various stages of film development and production.

I was asked to design a screenwriting class for filmmaking students in Ghana, Africa. From there I traveled the United States teaching my class at seminars and film festivals. Eventually, I turned my class into a book and created The Guide For Every Screenwriter which became a best seller.
I am the founder of WeFixYourScript.com and have been a screenwriter and script consultant for over 10 years. I am sought out by producers and directors to work on scripts at various stages of development from concept design to pre-production.

I ask the student what their goals are. I will then cater the session to meet those goals. It is important for me to make sure my students have value with each session.
I have worked with first-time screenwriters to professionals with serious writing credits.
Do your research! Make sure the mentor or teacher you end up working with has the merits to be worthy of teaching you. A quick google or IMDB search will tell you everything you need to know.
One of my students was struggling with a screenplay. After working with them they ended up winning best short screenplay in a contest. :)
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Make sure you know what you want. I ask my students to be very specific with what their goals are. That way I can customize my lessons to focus on what you need.

I’ve read many screenwriting books but i don’t seem to get through them, the wording scared me. I took this class with the hope that it would be fun and informative. IT WAS! Screenwriting is not easy but the book lays out each step in a way that was easy to read. The book is straightforward and has updated references to help get the concepts down. The class was one investment I don’t regret. Highly recommend this book, It’s a game changer !
This is my go-to book! It's easy to follow and contains everything you'll need to write a screenplay. I appreciate the examples throughout and the sample screenplay at the back. The book is also compact so you can bring it with you everywhere. Highly recommend!

Screenwriting 101 - $375
Screenwriting 101 is a set curriculum of 4 classes each 1.5 hours long. The student will learn all aspects of screenwriting such as concept development, story structure, script formatting, rewriting, and even how to pitch your script. During the lessons, the student will be WRITING A SHORT SCRIPT as guided be Geoffrey. By the final class, the student will have a completed and polished script that will be ready to be submitted to a screenplay contest, festival, or used as a sample.
