About Constance
I am a certified Pilates Instructor (Polestar Education) in all the classical Pilates apparatus, such as the Reformer, Chair, Trap Table (Cadillac), Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, and Mat. I intend to be certified through the Pilates Method Alliance in the spring of 2018.
I am also a Stretch coach ,while creating a nice and peaceful atmosphere I wil combine assisted stretching with relaxation therapy to help you release some tensions and gain flexibility.
As a professional dancer, I have a lot of experience in strenghtening, stretching , moving my body in space, being conscious and aware of the muscles i use. I like to keep the energy circulating in a class and not get stuck on one exercise. Breathing and flow are key words in my teaching.
I love to work with private students, I can get to know them much better and quicker than in a group class. And because I am very picky I will correct and coach you my best, so you can process new informations for future classes!
I have a deep appreciation for physical conditioning and in Pilates I found increased strength, flexibility, and control.
I desire to assist others in their fitness goals whether it be injury recovery or simply to be more active and healthy. It makes me happier to help others feeling better in their body, their mind, because Pilates is like a therapy for mind, body and soul.
And you may surprise yourself to discover how simple yet challenging Pilates is!

I started teaching Pilates while I was preparing my exam to become a certified Instructor through Polestar Education. I worked with Pilates Reforming NY and Kore Pilates on some private students(full equipment) and reformer group classes. I also give after school Mat classes for teachers.
I started teaching stretch sessions at a studio in Manhatthan. It combines assisted stretching and relaxation therapy.
I am a professional dancer, a stretch coach, love yoga and meditation. Pilates enrichies my dance career, I became more aware of my body, the sensations and the differents muscles and deep connections in each exercise i perform.

For my Pilates classes, I will first do a "screening" of their body,looking at their ability to move through certain exercises/poses, which takes about 15min. Depending on their health history,injuries, pathologies,age, i will build a program especially designed for that student.
I have worked with professional dancers, athletes, students with or without injuries, students in rehabilitation phase after surgery for example.
My advice would be to first pick a certified teacher, search which school he/she has trained with and try a lesson!
Brazilian week! There is no connection with bodywork but i love the Brazilian culture,the music,the dancing, celebrating life.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about your past and /or current injuries, what kind of lessons are you looking for : strengthening, flexibility training, combining both?
Do you have any goals you would like to achieve? Gain more range of motion in your shoulders ,your hips? Be able to play with your kids/grandkids without injuring yourself? Anything that would help you in your daily life, because what you train for in the studio will be reflected outside.

Details
As I am a recent certified Pilates teacher, I will charge between $50 and $70 for a private in-home Mat Pilates class. For a private reformer class or full equipment since it is usually $30 to rent the studio for an hour, it will be $75. We can also work on some packages or small group reformer classes to lower the individually cost.
I will charge $70/hour for stretch sessions.
