Rock Steady Boxing is unique in this program is MEDICALLY PROVEN to aid in slowing the progression of Parkinson’s disease in those that have been official diagnosed using “forced internee exercise” adressing the symptoms PwP’s (Persons with Parkinson’s) experience with the progression of this disease, such as slowness of movement, impacts to balance/instability, hand/eye coordination, agility, mental focus, muscle power, and rhythm. Our 90 minute classes focus not only on boxing, but include posture work, gait improvement, balance & stability, core, strength & cardio/endurance training, stretching, facial exercises to lessen “masked face” impacts, fine & large motor skills, and voice projection. We have 4 Rock Steady Headquarters certifies trainers on sight, with a minimum of 2 trainers per class; more trainers than any local area RSB program. We have 8 classes to chose from and attend per week. Training over 150 "fighters" in the course of a little over 3 years, opening late 2016, it is rewarding to see these individuals battle not just this disease, but finding and acquiring personal fitness growth that staves off the progression of Parkinson's. Some of the methods, techniques, and nutritional adaptations and adjustments one makes, along with overall strength building and cardio endurance development are the results we hope all clients take away from our training!
Parkinson's disease effects me personally as the love of my life was diagnosed in 2010, so we have been living with this "unwanted, uninvited" disease for almost 10 years, with probably many ignored telltale signs years before! Today, we choose to battle and "fight back against Parkinson's" together! Rock Steady Boxing East Nat is where I put my heart and soul for a better quality of life for the love of my life! Along this journey I have acquired hundreds of the most determined individuals to share this program with who choose daily, like my love does, to beat this foe before it has a chance to beat them! I'm blessed to share what I do with so many brave, courageous, strong/strong willed "fighters" who want to do nothing else but kick Parkinsom's ass daily!
All coaches have attended and are certified Rock Steady Boxing qualified.
