Marek Jacisin is a gifted artist and teacher. I know him from working at the same studio for about 10 or more years, the Ceramics Studio Office for the Arts at Harvard. For all of that time we have worked independently on our own work, but this past year he led a mural project, and I enrolled as one of his students. Marek worked with all of us at our different levels, and was organized and presented his teaching with hands on demos and his technically savvy use of video graphics to bring in more inspiration and knowledge. His own tile creations inspired me to take the class, after looking over his shoulder for years with admiration at his work with both plaster and different clay bodies and glazes. The art form including kiln firings is challenging, and Marek is familiar with all the tricks to make for successful tiles. The class finished the project with great results after working many weeks. Marek made the atmosphere in the classroom always lots of fun, with lots of laughter, and even had us making chocolate tiles to celebrate the success and dedication of all the class members.

He's an amazing teacher! He listened to us carefully and helped us to develop our creative process in a constructive and collaborative way. Thanks to Marek, we were able to get a mural tiles exhibition in one of the most exciting place in Boston. Plus, he's so generous and kind! I totally recommend him and had already did to my friends and coworkers.
