About Alicia
I love working with the community. I collect broken tvs, electronics, ect... and I take these resources and turn them into fun, creative, and practical works of art. The idea of transform things is very motivational for me...There is great value in the process of deconstructing and then reconstructing something. This process is not only satisfying, it also keeps me sharp, flexible, and continually inspired because my materials fluxuate.
The thing I enjoy most about creating art is this...When you're creating something, everything else falls away and in that space, I am able to gain deeper understanding of the inner workings of things. Before i can even begin to create, I have to deconstruct in order to harvest the materials needed for the project. Taking things apart can teach one quite a bit and I dig that part of the process. The main thing not matter what new skill you're learning is to keep it flowing, If i get stuck on something and can't see the next step, I just stop and take something apart. This back and forth process really works for me as it perpetuates a kind of fountain of information and ideas to continually present themselves without much effort.
