About Ethan
My name is Ethan Yu, and I am a sophomore studying Computer Science and Brain & Behavioral Sciences at Purdue University. I have spent the past 4 years instructing and tutoring students in various subjects, including many students in math going up through calculus. I also have a strong background in math; in high school I scored an 800 on the SAT math section and 5s on both AP Calculus AB and BC tests. In college, I have studied up through multivariable calculus and linear algebra.
I approach teaching math in an intuitive fashion. Rather than just memorizing rules and formulas, my goal is to help students understand the reasoning behind each concept in a way that makes sense. This facilitates better retention and application of the subject material. Ultimately, I tailor instruction to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the subject material and the development of a strong foundation for future math classes.
