About Seth
I provide math tutoring in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus (single and multivariable). Having had discipline troubles myself in the past, I can help to develop a study plan as well.
I'm the type of person who actually LIKES word problems.
While I am new to tutoring, I've worked with kids in other arenas (teaching, camp counseling, and childrens theater). Watching the joy on their faces as they FINALLY master a new skill makes me incredibly happy.
Simple: my calculus professor offhandedly mentioned that at our level, students could make some good money tutoring! So I've been looking for work over the summer.
I am a Math/Econ undergrad student who has achieved excellent grades in all of my math classes. This semester will begin my junior year.
I have experience teaching and leading children. As a dance teacher, I've taught small children ballet and tap. As a camp counselor, I've led groups of up to 9 teens for two weeks at a time. I enjoy working with all ages!

Before working with the student, I like to know the topics covered so I can brush up before I arrive. If the student has specific questions, we'll tackle those first. If the issue is studying habits, we can come up with a strategy for success. If it's an issue of understanding, we'll work through homework problems and iron out any kinks. Sometimes I may demonstrate a problem from start to finish.
Children and teens.
Hire someone with good energy. Math can be dull enough by itself at times.
My girlfriend treated me to disneyland for my birthday, and insisted that we get a caricature.
