About Easton

I'm a tutor teaching students about middle and high school math, computers and information technology, spanish, and criminology. I'm sure we can find something fun to learn today!

I am a senior at MSU Denver completing my dual major BS Cybersecurity; Criminology and Criminal Justice. I have studied spanish for eight years and can tutor basic skills as well. I have worked for a total of two years teaching students, and for three years in a management/training role and am looking for a career change to better reflect my future goals. I have experience in python programming and web development, have the PcPro certification (an A+ technician alternative), and four years of networking, MIS, and cybersecurity related fields.

I am an Eagle Scout and have experience teaching groups of children everything from how to tie a square knot to how to remain safe while climbing. Groups of students are welcomed as well!

My original degree was supposed to be in english literature and teaching, however I decided that I wanted to go into a profession which I saw as more beneficial to society that being a research professor in the fields of criminology and cybersecurity. In the meantime, I am looking to take on various teaching and tutoring roles to provide income for my education.

I am working towards my degree in Cybersecurity; criminology and criminal justice. I have the PcPro certification, an alternative to the A+ certification for computers. Additionally, I have taught and trained people for the past 5 years, in a classroom setting and in a job based setting. Additionally, I have experience in outdoor and alternative settings from being and Eagle Scout in a troop of over 60 boys.

When I first start with a new student I prefer to have a 30 minute meeting where I can determine the students needs—if unknown—and to set expecations of both myself and them. Following this, I prepare a curriculum of both PBL and lab based lessons along with preparing resources for the student to use outside of tutoring sessions.

I have worked with students from age seven to age eighteen in various subjects including english, mathmatics, and computer science. Additionally, I have also voulenteered with students who have ASD, and learning disorders.

Unfortunately the excitement for an upcoming event is far more interesting than a recent memory. I will be travelling to Korea for two weeks in november to research criminology. I will be able to take a comparative approach to criminology between western and eastern countries.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the most important question a student should think through are their expecations. What do they expect out of a session? Are their expecations reasonable? What is the realistic extent of their knowledge prior to tutoring? This information helps to provide a guide for me to more accurately assit a student.
