Stephanie has been tutoring my 8 year old daughter for about 5 months during this spring/summer (2019) twice a week. Back then our daughter was attending a Waldorf (Steiner) school but we were set on switching to public school after the summer break. We wanted to prepare our daughter for the big transition (the curriculum and the way Waldorf and Public school teach academics are very different from each other!). My daughter absolutely LOVED Stephanie and was always very excited to go there. She improved her math and writing skills and introduced her to many new terms and methods. Stephanie has done an amazing job tutoring my 6 year old. She taught her to read in just a few weeks, and her progress is apparent each time she meets with her. Her teacher has noticed how much better she has gotten with her reading and writing skills, and we attribute her great progress to Stephanie's very effective methods. Stephanie Stratton was absolutely a godsend for our son. He is an 11-year-old on the autism spectrum, and he had fallen behind in school due to issues with his special ed classroom.

Stephanie worked with him for 3 hours a day, every day, for the entire summer, and was able to tailor her instruction to his unique learning style, so that he learned quickly and retained the instruction. This was across all subjects; math, reading, social studies and science.

More, Ms. Stratton and our son formed a strong relationship, that made him care about working with her, and it was clear that she cared about him as well.
She was also an excellent advocate for him when it was time to discuss his fall placement with the school district. My son has been tutoring with Stephanie For about 7 months now. When he started tutoring he was in mid Kindergarten and still learning letter sounds. He hadn't yet grasped how to "sound out" a word. He could not remember words or sounds he was taught almost seconds after learning them and getting him to sit still long enough to learn how to read was a battle in itself!

With Steph's expertise in helping children with learning difficulties and attention issues, he is now able to read short books, write and spell Kindergarten level sight words correctly, and his confidence with reading is through the roof! He is now able to sit still and focus for a whole hour with little issues, when before it would be 10 minutes until he was begging to be done learning. Before, I couldn't get him to read a book with me without a struggle and constant redirection and now he's excitedly offering to read to me!

He's so proud of his progress and he LOVES working with Stephanie. As a mother it has been amazing to see how much his confidence has improved after working with Stephanie. We will continue working with her as long as possible and I would highly recommend her to ANYONE needing reading help for their child.

Stephanie has been working with our son since the end of first grade. Our child is challenged by anxiety and a working memory issue. When he entered 2nd grade, he was reading at a level "C" which was a full year behind from where he should be and was struggling with grade level sight words and handwriting. Only 3 1/2 months into 2nd grade and he has made a year's worth of progress in reading and his sight word recognition has gone from 40/100 to over 90/100. While he does get some support in public school (as he has since kindergarten), I attribute a high amount of his growth to the tutoring and support he had received from Stephanie. He trusts her and knows he can be himself and is building his confidence every week.

As a mother of a child with attention and behavior issues it has been a great relief to have Ms. Stratton working with us.
