About Zahra
Hello! My name is Zahra, and I’m a dedicated English reading and writing tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students grow into confident communicators. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors from Dominican University of California and the University of San Francisco. I’m also a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society of Psychology—experiences that have strengthened my analytical thinking, communication skills, and teaching approach.
I am the author of The ABCs of NCLEX-RN and Exit HESI Test Success, a book that reflects my love for clear writing, structured learning, and making complex information accessible. Writing and language have always been central to my academic and professional journey.
With over seven years of experience in English education, I’ve worked with students at various levels, including college learners, supporting them in reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary development, and pronunciation. I specialize in helping students strengthen their academic writing, organize ideas clearly, improve sentence structure, and develop confidence in both written and spoken English.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized. I believe that every student learns differently, and I strive to create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and improving their skills at their own pace.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy hiking, traveling, and photography—interests that often inspire creativity and meaningful conversation in my sessions. I believe learning should be engaging, practical, and empowering, and I aim to bring that mindset into every lesson.
