About Julia
I have been figure skating ever since I could walk. With over 20 years of experience, I have the abto teach a wide range of skills to any level. I am a certified ISI and USFSC coach with multiple certifications in judging as well.over the past few years I have specialized in choreographing figure skating programs. At my college I am the lead cherographer and have put together multiple programs for teams as well as individuals. I have all the skills to teach beginner skater as well as high level. I also specialize in edge work which can come in handy with figure skaters as well as hockey players.
I absolutely love everything skating has to offer. There is more than just skills that this sport can offer. It offers a variety of things such as confidence and endurance. Getting on the ice and nailing something you have worked on feels so amazing your confidence will grow. You gain endurance because every time you don’t land something you have to have endurance to get back up and try again. These two skills I have taken with me throughout my life and are key to success. I love passing those skills down to my students and teaching the importance of them both.
I got started coaching when I passed all my figure skating levels. I did not want to give up skating so I decided to become a certified coach.
I have been skating since I could walk so I have over 20 years of skating experience. I have worked for multiple skating schools giving me the key skills to be a coach to students of all levels.

Typically the first stage of working with a new student would be the assessment.
1. Assessment : This lesson we would start from level one and continue through the levels until the skills cannot be completed. From that point on, we would build on those levels.
2. Level testing: Once you master a level we will continue to go through each one. With each level comes new skills. We will set weekly goals on skills that should be accomplished.
I have worked with a variety of students. I have coached students from age one to age 20. I’ve also had experience coaching hockey skills as well as figure skating skills.
I recently cherogrpahed four programs for my college figure skating team. It was an amazing experience and required a lot of attention to detail. I picked music that suited the team as well as skills that everyone would be able to perform.
