About Kathleen
Kathleen Miguel maintains a private studio teaching harp students of all ages and levels. As a teacher she seeks to enable the students to attain their harp dreams.
She founded a youth harp ensemble in 2013 which has grown to 9 students and performs at local assisted living locations throughout the year.
Kathleen has a Master of Music in harp performance from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music and a B.A. in Music from Thomas Edison State College. She began harp lessons with Dayton area harpist, Joan Seymour. Her teachers have included the most qualified harpists in the greater Dayton area and have included; Jeanne Norton, Ohio State University Lecturer and principal harpist of ProMusic Chamber Orchestra; Jude Mollenhauer, principal harpist of the Columbus Symphony for 20 years, and Leslie S. Norris, principal harpist of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Gillian Benet Sella, principal harpist with the Cincinnati Symphony.
Kathleen has performed with many area ensembles including the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Springfield Symphony, Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra, Yellow Springs Community Orchestra and Chorus, and with various choirs and musicians in the Dayton area. Kathleen has been a member of the Harps of Grace Ensemble 2005. She frequently performs for weddings, receptions, memorial services, and other events.
