The Instructor;
Mark "Abishai" Brooks is a composer/songwriter, arranger, bassist, producer, and audio engineer. Abishai has studied Jazz Performance at Long Island University. At the Brooklyn College Music Conservatory, Abishai studied composition with Tania Leon, Jason Eckardt and Ben Bierman and audio engineering with George Brunner.
Abishai has been in the music industry for over 35 years now and has performed and recorded with numerous artists. Abishai is currently the director of the Music Recording Technology program at LaGuardia Community College and is the head engineer for Buss Recording Studio in West Haven, Connecticut.
I enjoy creating and documenting great performances. I go to work with a smile.

Good curriculum, he always answers students' questions properly.
The ability to turn the knobs on the analog gear and instantly feel/hear what it’s like to manually dial in the desired settings was eye opening. Absorbing the technical knowledge from a top notch Professional like Professor Mark Brooks from LaGuardia Community College’s Music Recording Technology Program was also a great learning experience. I would recommend his expertise about analog/digital aspects of audio engineering anytime, he knows what he’s doing.
I like the fact that that Buss recording allows me to submix with ease . And i can add affects to selected signals without affecting my general Mix.
Professor Brooks is a knowledgable and respected professor who teaches the in and outs of Music Recording technology in an understanding way to get prepared for a career in the field.
