About Chan
Hello,
My name is Chan Park. I was a music teacher/director at Calvary Baptist School in La Verne. Two of my main instruments are voice and guitar. I studied classical voice and guitar at Azusa Pacific University, in which I also tutored all levels of Music Theory and Musicianship. I have sung with members of the Los Angeles Chamber Choir at Walt Disney Concert Hall. I have been teaching music for over three years. I also have experiences teaching special needs students who have a desire to learn their instruments or voices.
The thing I enjoy the most is seeing students being challenged and overcome them as they go through my class and lessons. Music can be tough - but with little bit of help, they are thrilled to see that they, too, can enjoy with others the gift of music.
I started out tutoring at Azusa Pacific University music fundamentals which led to tutoring all levels of theory and musicianship. And a door was opened for me to teach Junior high and High school students in a local private school.
I am studying at Azusa Pacific Univerisity and pursuing a Bachelor degree in Music and Worship. I am trained as a classical vocalist and guitarist. I have some experiences with commercial styles (pop) guitar. I have played acoustic guitar and led worship services different churches for over 6 years.

My typical process for working with a new student is first to evaluate his or her ability to play or sing. Then it is important to talk to them as to find out his or her initial goal - i.e., to sing in a choir, perform at a show, join a church band and etc. After we set a goal, we find out which study material is needed for each student.
I have worked with students as young as six years old to 19 years old at college. I have some experiences in working with special needs students.
If you have a passion for music, do not wait. Ask someone to walk with you on a musical journey. Whether a friend, online or face-to-face teacher, get into it. You will soon find joy through making music.
Two of my piano students recently participated in a Christmas program and I was so glad to see them perform in front of the guests and their families. I felt super proud to be theirteacher.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do a student's level of expectation meet that of the teacher? How far do you have to travel? Is the teacher consistent (on time)? Is the teacher communicative and open to the needs of the student?

He is a good teacher with patience and love . Since last September we 've been having the piano lesson , my son really enjoyed it and made a big progress . On Christmas Day , my son performed in his school ,Mr Park was the mainly charge of the whole performance , to be honest, he did very good job.
I got music theory tutor from Chan for about two semesters and it helped me a lot! He taught me a lot of tips to remember things and also makes the hard theory easier to understand :)
Mr. Park is a great teacher, my son loves his class he not teaches to play an instrument, they learn to love and appreciate music and the feeling when playing. Thank you Mr Park
My seven year old takes lessons she knew nothing about music when we started now she is reading and can play. She could be better but sometimes you can't get her to do much not only does he have the patience of a saint which is needed with my child he is great at music. The other thing I love is you see God through him all the time at least we do. If you were to work with him in voice or instrument you will not be sorry.
