About James
I am a golf professional born and raised in North Carolina! I have worked at golf courses all over the U.S. and have found a passion for teaching. My teaching philosophy is to build off the good habits in each golfer’s swing, opposed to a one size fits all swing for everyone. I believe the best way to improve at golf is to practice on the golf course, and practicing in an adaptive environment such as on the course is much more effective than hitting balls on the range! I am very goal oriented and I encourage all my students have goals and practice with a purpose. Above all, I want all my students to leave each lesson with a smile on their face and feeling like they improved. Each golfer has different motivations behind taking golf lessons, and whether your goal is to play on tour or be able to get around the golf course with friends, I want to help you find success!

Preston is an amazing golf instructor and coach! He works so well with golfers of any age and skill level and is great at what he does. He will give great feedback, make the experience fun and educational for you or your child, and is caring about the people he works with. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested!
