Brave Speech and Voice Therapy, LLC is committed to providing effective treatment, training, and coaching to motivated and passionate clients who put the effort and their heart into bravely transforming their lives. As the owner of Brave and an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified and Illinois state licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP), Jenny uses evidence-based practice to support and guide her clients in communicating more effectively and clearly, achieving their unique voices, maximizing their cognitive health and performance, and learning the organization, planning, and prioritization skills needed to maximize efficiency at work, in the home, and in the classroom so that they can succeed, uncover their most promising futures, and discover what their lives can be.
Jenny Kamphaus, the owner of Brave, is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified and Illinois-state licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) with a Master's degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her career areas of specialty are concentrated in speech, language, voice and cognitive treatment for adults. She has served clients since 2012 in a variety of settings including the hospital, rehabilitation center and outpatient settings. She has also taught at the college level, given a guest lecture at the graduate level, and given community presentations at an assisted living facility on memory. Jenny's background further includes being Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) certified and being familiar with the SpeechVive device when it was in its early stages, as well as completing an elective Master's thesis on vocal fatigue in university lecturers.
I enjoy helping my clients achieve their highest potential, whether that is in speech or voice therapy, accent reduction training, executive function coaching or resume and cover letter coaching. I enjoy helping my clients discover just how much they are capable of, how strong they are, and how brave they are. I am in awe of the resiliancy and resolve that human beings have when they reach for the stars, and am so grateful and so filled with joy to be able to witness the incredible journeys of the individuals that I work with.
I have always been interested in language and culture. I've had friends with different cultural backgrounds for much of my life, volunteered teaching English as a second language to adult refugees, and have taken Spanish lessons and taveled to Japan twice.
I achieved my Master's degree and began working as a speech-language pathologist (SLP), or speech therapist. I then sought certification in the Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language (P-ESL) Program to combine my years of experience as a speech-language pathologist with my passion for language and culture in order to work with clients in accent reduction, so that I can assist them with achieving their goals and dreams via the route of easier and more clear communication.
I am an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified and Illinois-state licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) with a Master's degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo. One of my career areas of specialty is in speech.
I am certified in the Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language (P-ESL) program.
