About Kelsie

I have chosen a career in education because I believe that knowledge and education are the driving force to success and happiness. I have a B.A. in Studio Art with a minor in English Literature and I am currently earning my M.F.A. in Creative Writing, due to graduate in January. I began working with an after school enrichment program as a lead instructor back in 2012 and have been working with students one-on-one as a tutor since then. I believe much of my success is due to my own enjoyment of writing which I am able to share with the students I work with.

I have a B.A. in Studio Art, which helps me thinking outside the box and come up with creative solutions. I also have a minor in English Literature and am currently earning my M.F.A in Creative Writing.

I like to get to know a student by asking them what their academic interests are, what they enjoy studying, what they feel they excel at, and what subjects they want help in and why. I also like to ask about their preferred learning style and their favorite teachers. These questions help me to understand how best to approach learning with each individual and play to their strengths. Then, we can move on to the specific assignments they want help with and go forward from there.

I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds.
