About Monica

As a younger person, I found myself heartbroken when my writing was changed by an editor. That is, until I came across this quote by Arthur Plotnik, "You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what's burning inside you. And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke."

That changed not only the way I write, but is the context behind my passion for editing today. I will read carefully what you have written and listen intently to you throughout this process. Let me help you refine your voice and clarify the message you have for the world!

I have a lot of experience editing for people at different education backgrounds. I truly love helping people complete a writing assignment that communicates clearly to their intended audience. It is absolutely thrilling to see them get rewarded with awards and recognition because it speaks to the quality of work we have achieved together.

To start, I'd like to get to know you and the project you are working on through a short conversation. I then need access to all your requirements if it is an assignment or to digest what notes you have if this is a vision of yours you are working on. I need to understand who your audience is and what message you want to communicate. From there, we will work together to plan out the project and set appointments for review and editing.
