About Rachel
Throughout my childhood I was an avid reader and enjoyed writing in multiple genres. I excelled in my English classes and received high scores on two AP English tests in high school. Several years ago I graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor's in Sociology. During college I worked for MSU as a tutor. In this role I helped students develop strong study habits, understand class content using relatable examples, and write cohesive essays.
Written communication skills are essential for all students. A strong foundation in English helps youth succeed in a variety of subjects and prepares them for higher levels of education. I will teach students how to create effective outlines, research topics, cite their sources, and write concise essays. Finally, I encourage students to advocate for themselves at school and use resources that will help them conquer future challenges.
My favorite part of tutoring is watching students grasp challenging concepts and achieve their academic goals. I enjoy teaching by relating the material to topics that are of interest to the client. This has helped many of the student athletes I tutored stay engaged and develop a deep understanding of the material. Most importantly, I love to empower students as they build confidence with each success.
