About Jill
Hello! My name is Jill, and I have been teaching college writing, reading, public speaking, and study skills at universities in Minneapolis. I have dedicated my teaching career to assist others in learning how to communicate better. I have a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics/Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Minnesota.
I have been tutoring as a side gig since I started helping my younger sister with her Algebra Ii/Trigonometry in high school.

The first time I meet with a student, we will discuss what the student sees as his/her/their strengths in academics as well as areas that they want to work on the most.
We will then set some goals for what we hope to accomplish both short-term (in two weeks, a month, six weeks, two months, as well as long-term (in three or six months).
After conducting a needs assessment in the particular subjects that the student wants to work on, we will then establish some working rules for how we will concentrate on the major tasks the students need to accomplish in each study area.

Jill is very good communicator, and she has helped me improve my written and oral communication immensely. She is very nice and answers all of my questions. She also is very respectful and open to learning more about my culture. She'sgreat.
The first thing I noticed by Jill is that she is very patient and kind. I am in my mid-30s and working on getting my GED. Jill encouraged me, helped me boost my confidence, and helped me improve my reading, math, and vocabulary skills. She is great, and I plan to continue work with her so that I can go to community college.
Jill is really good at teaching and communicating. I knew as soon as I met her that I would get along well with her and learn a lot. She tutored me in speaking, listening, and English pronunciation nearly every week for a year. She is a wonderful tutor, especially for someone who needed a tutor who believed in him. I highly recommend her.
She's very personable, works quickly with me, and understands what my writing issues are.
