About Anthony

As an accomplished educator with diverse experiences, I bring a strong commitment to supporting students' academic growth and personal development. With a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and extensive experience as a Substitute Teacher in the Compton Unified School District, I excel in providing tailored instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Additionally, my background as an instructional assistant in special education underscores my ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments. Beyond the classroom, my involvement with community organizations such as Youth Inspiring Change and Unity (YICAU) demonstrates my dedication to advocacy and mentorship. With expertise in technology integration, including tools like Kahoot! and Zoom, I am well-equipped to engage students in innovative learning experiences. My passion for fostering connections and promoting cultural understanding aligns perfectly with the role of an Elementary Tutor, where I aim to inspire students to achieve their academic goals through meaningful real-world connections and personalized support.

As an aspiring educator, my goal is to emulate the impactful guidance I received from my grandfather, instilling wisdom and joy in learning. I am committed to integrating technology, connecting curriculum to personal experiences, and fostering psychological and socioemotional growth in students. By utilizing technology like Kahoot! and incorporating real-life connections, I aim to enhance engagement and retention. Additionally, prioritizing socio-emotional learning ensures students feel valued and prepared for success. Inspired by my grandfather, I strive to provide a comprehensive education that equips students with essential skills and resilience for their future endeavors.
