About Mayline
I am an experienced tutor with over 12 years of specialising in 11+ preparation, having attended Dartford Grammar School and Dartford Grammar School for Girls, before going on to study at Russell Group universities.
I am passionate about pedagogy and how children learn best, and I tutor alongside my day job because I genuinely enjoy helping pupils succeed. I focus on building strong relationships with my students — often bonding over their interests — to create a comfortable, engaging environment where they can thrive. I also work closely with parents, as we are all part of the same team in supporting each child’s progress.

I take a structured, personalised, and results-driven approach to 11+ tutoring, ensuring each pupil is fully prepared for the academic content and exam demands of the 11+. Every programme is tailored and responsive, adapting to each child’s strengths, gaps, and pace of progress.
Sessions are carefully structured for maximum impact. We begin with a short brain warm-up, followed by a balance of focused skill-building and practice papers. The split between these depends on the needs of the child — some pupils require deeper consolidation of core concepts, while others benefit from increased exposure to exam-style questions and timed conditions. Each session ends with reflection and clear next steps, helping to reinforce learning and track progress over time.
With over 12 years of 11+ tutoring experience and a strong track record of success, I support pupils in developing not only subject knowledge, but also exam technique, time management, and confidence under pressure. Having been through the 11+ process myself, I understand how to break down challenges and quickly build both skill and self-belief.
These sessions are designed for pupils preparing for the 11+, with a focus on refining technique, strengthening weaker areas, and building exam readiness in a structured and supportive environment.
I also work with Year 3–4 pupils to build early foundations, as well as Year 6 students for SATs and secondary school preparation, meaning many families value the continuity and consistency of working together across multiple stages.
