As a professional Basketball Trainer, Robert has become well-known and respected throughout Worcester County. He has developed his own unique training methods, all aimed at syncing the body and mind in preparation for competing against the best. Coach believe that a rigorous training system not only develops physical strength, but also the mental stamina required to compete at the highest levels of the game. At No Excuse Produce, we keep up with the latest training techniques and methodologies, and consistently push our athletes to the limit.
Robert Hunter is a lifelong basketball player, and is the former Head Men's Basketball Coach at MassBay Community College. Before coaching, Hunter was a player for Mass Bay Community College; he then transferred on to Worcester State University.
During his time at MBCC, Robert was a 2 time All State player, a 2 time All New England Region player, an NJCAA All National and MVP of the Onadoga Tournament in Syracuse, NY. Once he moved on to Worcester State, Robert earned MASCAC Player of the Week 5 times, and was voted on to the First Team All MASCAC twice. After successfully scoring more than 1000 points and receiving awards as a starting player, Robert graduated college and began his coaching career. Within four years coaching, Hunter led the Freshmen Boy’s Basketball team at Doherty High School in Worcester and then worked as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Mass Bay Community College. During the 2016-2017 season as an assistant to Hall of Fame coach Bill Raynor, Hunter help guide the Bucs to a New England Region 21 Championship and a berth to the National Tournament in Minnesota in which the team finished (27-7) 5th in the nation. Hunter moved on after coaching two season at the helm for Mass Bay as a Head Coach. He's currently running his own basketball training business in which he trains over 150 kids all over the New England area.

When working with a prospect, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a rapport. At this point in time, athlete's have potentially struggled with various skills , so the importance of instilling confidence in them before any training begins is essential to their success. Nevertheless, prior to scheduling sessions, I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s). We work hand in hand to build their specialized plan of action. Athletes create a detailed description of their current skill sets and their desired results. Next, we come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the athlete , but many plans include some sort of accommodation to pre and post-session communication in order to track progress.
I have coached, trained and mentored students who have played on every level of basketball. I currently have former players playing at Tulane University, Fitchburg State University, Assumption University and many other four year institutions.
The first key to being great at anything is preparation.
My former player graduating from a four year college and accepting a job in politics at the State House in Boston.

Perfect! Coach Hunter is good at teaching the fundamentals of basketball, such as foot work, and ball handling. He is very patient and likes to have fun. Would definitely recommend.

One-on-one basketball training price range from $20-100 per 60-75-minute session 2-3 times a week. We also offer a FREE Nutrition Consultation, and access to the Hypervolt GO -Hyperice massage gun post workout as well. Healthy snacks and drinks are provided as well free of charge.
