About Marcus
My expertise is training youth in the basic fundamentals of basketball; shooting, ball handling, passing, and rebounding. I've done volunteer coaching for the last 3 years with one of the best high school basketball programs in the state that has sent numerous HS student athletes to pursue collegiate sports. I've been mentored in coaching by coaches with over 40 years experience. I've also attended courses at PGC(Point Guard College) a nationally known training program for coaches and players. I've also have helped develop players in the summer through a girls traveling team that I helped start called the Lady Stars. I have a passion for coaching and teaching basketball. Especially the basic fundamentals of basketball, because so many children are not getting those basic skills taught to them by coach's. The teaching can be tediously repetitive, so a coach has to have the patience to deal with an inexperienced or young player. That's where I come in at, because I have the patience for the young athletes of today. It's not just for the skill, but it also takes patience to build an athlete's body and mind. Also, athletes should have fun learning the game and developing the skills for basketball.
I live in Little Rock, AR. so I hope to be able to negotiate a reasonable price range for the mileage and time. We can very well negotiate a package deal if I'm coming more than once a week and if it's more than one athlete. I charge $50 for one session for a 1 hour in-person training. $150 for 4 sessions a month.
The training includes free-throw shooting(routine development), shooting(BEEF technique), jumpshot(energy development), basic ball handling skills, rebounding techniques, passing skills, toughness development, agility skills, basic footwork, proper defensive techniques and different skills/drills. Every lesson and skill can be properly explained thoroughly for the reason behind each. If athlete accurately practice on his/her own outside of our sessions he/she will see improvement in 1-2 months time.
I enjoy helping young kids understand the game of basketball. Seeing them figure it all out. Putting in the work and accomplish goals. And to see them have fun.
Volunteer coaching.
I have mentored and trained by some of the best coaches and trainers in the country with over. I've been volunteer coaching for the last 4 years.

Perfect! Coach Butler is an amazing trainer. I have seen a significant difference in my child's dribbling, ball handling, and shooting within the time that she has been training with him. Coach Butler has a great deal of patience especially when it comes to my daughter. He also, makes sure that she has a good understanding and is confident in what she is doing so that she can execute her skills on the court when alone. I highly recommend Coach Butler if you are looking for a expertise who will train and show you or your child how to properly improve your basketball skills.
Perfect! Coach Butler is an amazing trainer. He worked so well with my 12 year old daughter. He takes the time to listen to you and explain what he wants. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a basketball trainer!!
Perfect! Coach Butler is the consummate professional. Very knowledgeable with a good mix of persistence and patience in his approach to training. I highly recommend his services.
Perfect! Very knowledgeable and experienced coach!
Perfect! I’ve never had a trainer outside of my actual coach that I played for. Coach Butler pushed me to my limits, and encouraged me to keep striving for my goals. 10/10 would recommend!
Perfect! Coach Butler worked well with my son. He was super positive and patient. He also gave home great drills and exercises to work on at home. My son is very excited to work with him again.
Perfect! Where do I start with my review...
From my first encounter, Coach Butler has been professional. He was quick to respond and helpful throughout the process of hiring a basketball coach for my son. He answered all my questions( and there were plenty), which made the process less stressful. He’s flexible with your schedule. And did I mention he has the patience of Job? He explained the game to my 4 yr old in a way that’s understandable to a youngster. My son is excited to return for his next lesson. Coach Bulter is a must hire.

Coach pushes me to another level on and off the court and physically and mentally! He puts a lot of effort in to help me get better each workout and helps me set up mini goals for my self, so I can improve on my own! And he treats you like family, but overall he’s a fun and determined guy to have in your corner!
