About James
I've been programming for longer than I'd care to admit (15 years!) and have spent most of my life in front of a computer screen, working on my own projects, working for an employer or attending higher education.
I'm degree educated in video games programming, so if you're looking for advice on how to use specific engines, frameworks, or languages, I can most likely help with that. Additionally, I'm fluent in most C-based languages (especially Java, C#, C/C++) and a handful of scripting languages.
Even if you're a complete newbie with computers and aren't sure how to consistently type capital letters on a keyboard, I will do my best to make you feel supported and enriched.
If you're a family member of an older person who needs to do their council tax online and don't know who to turn to, I can probably help with that, so don't hesitate to reach out.

I am a patient, good-humoured tutor, who is willing to work with anyone to teach computing skills or coding in a variety of programming and scripting languages, regardless of experience or ability.
I've been a programmer for 15 years, and used computers since I was about 3 or 4, so I have a lot of knowledge to share. I'm a lot less experienced with mobile phones though, I'll admit.
I am flexible in the amount of time you want to dedicate to a single session; 30 minute power-lessons, or 6 hour cramming sessions and everything in between.
I'll be delivering my lessons over the most convenient remote technology for my student, be that Zoom, WhatsApp, Discord, Skype, Teams, or anything that'll run on a Windows computer!
I am available between around 9am - 3pm in whatever the current British timezone is, on most weekdays, but there will likely be a single weekday I am unable to do, which I will discuss with you when we're arranging the lessons. I am also unable to travel to in-person lessons, so we will have to stick to digital lessons.
