About Gudni
I am a screenwriter and novelist from Iceland who's been living in Edinburgh, Scotland for a few years, but recently moved to London. In my time here I've done tutoring at various institutions with students of all ages, ranging from 9 - 65. I have extensive writing experience, having published six books in Icelandic, and written several screenplays for short films and feature length ones. What I like most about teaching people about screenwriting is getting them to understand that they already know so much more about filmmaking than they think they do. The three act structure, character development, plot points and effective dialogue are something that most people are aware of, even if they don't necessarily know how to define or describe it. I will be giving you the tools you need to go write your own screenplay, using proper formatting and industry appropriate ways of creating your stories, in a relaxed and positive environment where failure is encouraged, not punished, for that is the best way to learn. We will look at formatting of screenplays and analyse scenes from films in our quest to give you a basic understanding of the screenwriting craft.
