She has always had a gift for meeting students where they are, figuring out what they need, and finding a way to help things finally click. She is patient, encouraging, and genuinely wants her students to feel successful rather than frustrated or discouraged. Her experience as a reading specialist gives her the ability to provide individualized support instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I have worked with Susan in many different industries over the years as she taught me how to read all the way to me volunteering in her classrooms. Susan is an excellent teacher and creates clear and intuitive lesson plans and has always made learning fun! I cannot recommend Susan enough!

Susan and I worked together in an Elementary setting where I was her English Language Para support for English Language Learners. We shared a lot of the same teaching methods that put the child first. The children LOVED her and she spoke to them in a way that told them they mattered and that they could accomplish hard things. She is very knowledgeable in behavior and helping mold negativity into something positive and leading the child to believe in themselves. She is also very knowledgeable and flexible in teaching one child one way, may not work for another.
