About Stacy

Teaching Philosophy
I believe every child can become a confident and independent mathematician by learning how to think for themselves. My lessons are designed to meet each child where they are, with achievable goals and activities paced to their individual needs. By focusing on student-centered learning, I ensure that every child feels supported, encouraged, and capable during every lesson.

Professionalism
I’m committed to providing the best learning experience for your child by always being well-prepared, punctual, and responsive. Every lesson is thoughtfully planned to ensure it aligns with your child’s learning goals and builds their confidence and understanding step by step.

What Sets Me Apart
I tailor every lesson to your child’s unique needs, interests, and learning style—no cookie-cutter worksheets or one-size-fits-all activities here. For the past two years, I’ve specialized in teaching mathematics to students from Prep through Grade 6, giving me a clear focus and deep expertise in helping young learners thrive in math.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology
My lessons focus on building confidence and flexibility with numbers. Each session begins with a review of previously taught content, followed by a fluency activity to develop numerical flexibility. I incorporate a "Number Talk" to enhance mental computation skills. The main lesson is student-centered, allowing for point-of-need teaching to maximize engagement and cater to individual learning needs.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Lessons are structured to last one hour, with a mix of review, activities, and student-led learning to ensure a comprehensive and engaging session.

Qualifications and Experience
I am a Math Specialist Teacher with 14 years of experience teaching primary-aged students. I recently completed the Victoria Department of Education's Primary and Math Specialized Training (2023-2024), equipping me with the latest strategies for effective math instruction.

Who Are the Lessons For?
My lessons are designed for primary school students, from Prep to Grade 6, who want to strengthen their mathematical understanding, improve fluency, and build confidence in a supportive and engaging environment.
