About Pooja
I’m a dedicated Mathematics teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching both in schools and as a private tutor. I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science, a B.Ed., and an M.Sc. in Mathematics. I’ve taught students in Melbourne, London, and India, specializing in VCE Maths Methods, Specialist Maths, and Further Maths. For the past five years, I have been teaching mathematics to students from leading private, public, and selective schools in Melbourne, fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and building students' confidence. My teaching approach is focused on helping students understand the "why" behind mathematical concepts, not just the "how" of solving problems. I believe that building a strong foundation in problem-solving and critical thinking leads to both academic success and a genuine appreciation for the subject. In addition to my professional life, I am happily married with two young children. Key aspect of my teaching experience is that I have seen/taught so many students who hated maths before but now maths is their favorite subject and they are doing really well after I helped them in maths. My aim while teaching is to make students understand how a problem works, rather than simply trying to find a correct answer. With this approach, I try to focus on overall understanding of the problem, break down the problem into individual parts, and encourage students to think through and then solve the problem.
