About Carol
Hello! I’m Carol, an experienced Mandarin and Cantonese tutor from Hong Kong with over 15 years of university teaching experience.
I have a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance and a professional teaching qualification. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught students from different backgrounds and developed a patient, encouraging and student-centred approach.
I offer online lessons in both Mandarin and Cantonese. I can support beginners as well as more advanced learners, and I can tailor lessons to your individual goals, whether you want to improve speaking and pronunciation, build confidence in everyday conversation, develop reading and writing skills, or learn Chinese for study, work or travel.
I particularly enjoy helping learners feel comfortable using Chinese in real-life situations. My lessons are friendly, practical and engaging, with activities adapted to each student’s age, level and learning needs.
As a native Cantonese speaker from Hong Kong with fluent Mandarin, I can also help learners understand the differences between Cantonese and Mandarin, including pronunciation, vocabulary and everyday expressions.
