About Khaliah
Hi! My name is Khaliah, and I am a certified elementary and special education teacher currently teaching fourth grade in Virginia. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Virginia and am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction.
Reading is my passion, and I am dedicated to helping students become confident, successful readers. Over the past three years, I have worked with a diverse range of learners, including English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and students performing both above and below grade level. Through personalized instruction, I help students strengthen foundational reading skills such as phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension while building the confidence they need to thrive.
I believe every child can grow as a reader when instruction is tailored to their individual needs. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks, develop strong literacy skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

I believe every student can become a successful reader with the right support, encouragement, and instruction. I have experience working with English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and learners performing at a variety of reading levels.
My approach is engaging, interactive, and student-centered. I use evidence-based strategies to help students develop essential literacy skills while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to help students grow as confident, independent readers and develop a lifelong love of reading. Each lesson is tailored to the student's strengths, needs, and individual goals to ensure meaningful progress and success.
