About Heather
Talking about myself is always one of the most difficult things to do! I have a habit, really more of a passion, for turning things that are personal interests into ways of helping other people or animals. I love that a few hours a week of my time can be a part of a positive influence on someone else's life. After 20 years of being a student and an assistant instructor, I decided to take the plunge and become fully accredited through an IAOTH school. I am a volunteer yoga teacher at my local Y. This allows me to work with people for whom this amazing discipline would not otherwise be accessible. I have volunteered at the SPCA and saw hundreds of cats go to their forever loving homes. Many of the adoptive "pet parents" are bringing home emotional support animals. On a personal level, to start getting to know me, I'm a huge lover of animals of all types. I am told that I have too many pets...I don't believe it. I enjoy swimming for my cardio exercise and I watch more YouTube than is probably good for me.

I could tell you all about my qualifications and experience. However, if you are here, you are looking for something beyond the typical textbook material. I do everything possible to safely personalize every class to help you meet your goals. Whether this be learning to finally land that elusive pose, or if you are just looking for a tailored practice sequence, I have you covered. All are welcome, I currently am teaching, all levels of mat Pilates. I also have my 500-hour instructor certificate through a Yoga Alliance studio. If you would like to add this complementary discipline to your practices, we can do that too.

I'd never taken yoga prior to doing some classes with Heather. She's a wonderful teacher, very patient, helpful and good at explaining things along the way. I look forward to learning more from her!
I’ve been friends with Heather for an … unspecified number of decades. We’ve been close, we’ve been distant, but she’s always been someone you can count on when you need her. That’s why I know any student of hers can look forward to a supportive, helpful and friendly working relationship.
I'm new to the whole yoga thing. Heather is patient and helped me to not fall on my face (hah). I'd definitely take more of her classes!
Heather's great. Well spoken, with a great and helpful attitude. I see her a few times a week for core training. ~Randy
