About Annoushka
I am a passionate English and 11+ tutor with a genuine love of language, literature, and storytelling. I particularly enjoy helping students grow in both skill and confidence, and find it rewarding to support them as they develop their own voice and analytical abilities. My teaching is driven by a belief that English becomes much more engaging when students connect personally with what they are studying.
I have a 90%+ success rate supporting students with school and university entry, including UCS, The London 11+ Consortium schools, St Paul's, Cheltenham Ladies School and many others, as well as Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
Alongside tutoring, I work part-time as a film and TV producer, and storytelling is central to everything I do. My interests span literature, poetry, theatre, film, and television, and I enjoy bringing these influences into my lessons to make learning dynamic and relevant. I aim to share my enthusiasm with students, helping them discover enjoyment in English while building the skills they need to succeed academically.

Teaching techniques and methodology
My teaching approach is student-centred and tailored to individual needs. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, gaps, and learning goals, then design lessons that directly address these areas. I also incorporate students’ interests to make learning engaging and motivating. A key focus of my teaching is helping students structure answers clearly and effectively, with close attention to mark schemes and assessment criteria. I emphasise building confidence, analytical thinking, and exam technique alongside subject knowledge.
Typical length of a lesson
Lessons typically run between 60–120 minutes, depending on the student’s level, goals, and concentration span.
Qualifications and tutoring experience
I have over six years of tutoring experience and hold a CELTA qualification, a BA in English Literature from Oxford University, and an MA in Creative Writing. I have supported students across a wide range of academic stages, including selective school entrance exams and university applications.
Who the lessons are for
I teach students across multiple levels, including 7+, 11+, and 13+ entrance exams, GCSE, A Level, IB, and university entrance preparation (including ELAT). I have experience working with a wide range of ages and abilities, tailoring lessons to suit each student’s academic goals and learning style.
