About Bella
I am going into my second year at Durham University, and
feel very passionate about the subject, and I’d love to inspire some of my own enthusiasm for English in younger students.
Additionally, I remember the stress of GCSE and A Level exams from a few years ago, and I would love to try and help students feel a lot less daunted by these intense exams, now that I am on the other side of them.
When I was at school, I was very busy with sport and music, and therefore, I feel that I learnt lots of tips and tricks to balance these extra-curriculars with academics. I’d love to share some of these ideas, as well as hearing what interests my students have too!

Who are the lessons for? - GCSE English literature and language students
One of my aims with tutoring is to work with every student individually, catering for their unique needs, and challenges. I endeavour to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for the student, where they feel able to be open and honest about the specifics of what they find challenging.
My main teaching methods will centre around PowerPoint slides with examples, and broken down assessment objectives required from the exam boards, followed by practice non-timed, and timed essay questions. I will also occasionally mark the essays with the student, in order to practise getting into the habit of mentally checking off AOs when writing.
